Lambeth Safeguarding Children's Board

Local Safeguarding Children's Boards were established by the government to ensure that organisations work together effectively to safeguard children and promote their welfare.

Membership of Lambeth's Safeguarding Children's Board (LSCB) includes social care, education, health, the police, the voluntary sector, the youth offending service and other organisations that work with children and young people.

The LSCB is the key statutory mechanism for agreeing how relevant local organisations will cooperate to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, and for ensuring that they are effective.  The Chair is independent of all local agencies.
