To develop Our 2020 Vision, we did a lot of consultation with the Lambeth community. In April 2007, we reviewed our current policies and existing local data. This resulted in the publication of the ‘State of the Borough’ report which contains statistics and perception data for Lambeth.
A series of community consultations were then used to gather ideas and issues from partners and the public as to what the Sustainable Community Strategy should focus on. Once this consultation and engagement process was complete, we reviewed the findings and agreed that the key focus of the strategy should be to tackle worklessness.
A list of broad goals were discussed with key members of our partner organisations and members of the public. To make sure our goals had broad support, we then did a number of consultation activities including:
We also used the findings of existing research and consultation which had been carried out by our partner agencies. Other relevant strategies within the borough such as the Safer Lambeth Partnership Delivery Plan, the Children and Young People’s Plan, the Housing Strategy and the Economic Development Strategy were also used.
Detailed findings of full process we used can be found in ’Lambeth’s Sustainable Community Strategy and Local Area Agreement: Consultation Process Report’.
The State of the Borough report contains key facts and figures about Lambeth. It was produced to provide evidence to support Our 2020 Vision and to offer you a picture of the borough today, with an idea of what needs to be improved.
