We are Lambeth’s Local Strategic Partnership (LSP), uniting the many organisations and communities who are involved in making decisions which affect the future wellbeing of the people of Lambeth.
By bringing together local residents, businesses, voluntary groups and the public and private sectors, we work with the Lambeth community to put ideas, strategies, plans and services into action at a local level.
Local Strategic Partnerships (LSP) provide the forum for reviewing and steering public resources in local areas. There is an LSP for almost every area of England and Wales.
LSPs bring together councils and other agencies and organisations that provide and use services in local communities, including:
LSPs allow these organisations to work together to develop a long-term vision to improve the quality of life and services in the local area.
This long-term vision forms the sustainable community strategy (SCS). The LSP also delivers the improvements in the local area agreement (LAA).
It is our mission that, by 2020, Lambeth will be a diverse, dynamic and enterprising borough at the heart of London.
To achieve our ambition, we have developed the Lambeth Sustainable Community Strategy (2008-2020) which is called Our 2020 Vision. The strategy’s main focus is to tackle worklessness* across the borough.
The strategy not only looks at how we will tackle worklessness, but at how we will address some of the causes of the problem, such as business investment, education and training, community safety/crime, health and housing.
Lambeth First has also developed a Local Area Agreement (LAA) which will help us to deliver the priorities outlined for the first three years of Our 2020 Vision.
For more information on who we are and what we do, read our Lambeth First Constitution and Terms of Reference.
*Worklessness describes people who are out of work but who want a job. It includes people claiming unemployment benefits, people not currently in paid work who are seeking employment and those who are economically inactive.
