The Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership (CYPSP) acts as Lambeth's Children's Trust.
Up to March 2010 the CYPSP fulfilled Lambeth’s statutory requirement under the Children’s Act (2004) to have Children’s Trust arrangements which bring together local partners to improve outcomes for children and young people across the borough. It also acted as Lambeth First’s theme partnership representing children and young people.
The Apprenticeships, Schools, Children and Learning Act 2009 has brought about a number of changes in formal responsibilities and structure. From April 2010 all local authorities have to establish a Children’s Trust and a Children’s Trust Board. Responsibility for the Children and Young People’s Plan (CYPP) will shift from the local authority to the Children’s Trust Board.
As a result of this legislation the following has changed in Lambeth:
The CYPSP will continue as Lambeth First’s theme partnership for children and young people.
The CYPSP will cointinue to bring together stautory and non statutory partners to improve outcomes for children and young people across the borough. We aim to promote and embed joint service planning and commissioning, while widely consulting service-users on our major strategic and operational initiatives. We are responsible for driving performance against the five Every Child Matters outcomes and the Local Area Agreement (2008-11).
