Do you want to make a BIG Difference? We do.
We all deserve to live in a community where we are safe and happy. A key partner of Lambeth First, Lambeth Council are working hard with residents to make Lambeth a safer and pleasant place to live. By being aware of our surroundings and actions we can keep safe and protect our possessions, homes and communities.
Lambeth Council has begun a community safety initiative, encouraging everyone to contribute to a safer Lambeth. It's not hard, all we have to do is be more aware. By doing things like shielding your PIN, keeping your wallet or purse, mobile and MP3 player safely out-of-sight you can help reduce robbery and pick-pocketing.
But it doesn't stop there. Lambeth should be a safe place to travel around at anytime, so plan your journey, let family or friends know your route and destination, be aware of your surroundings, and use busy well-lit streets.
In order to help support this intitiative, there is a website you can go to for a wide range of information on how you can stay safe, and what you can do to help prevent yourself and others from being targets of anti-social behaviour and crime. Do remember that it is always important to report this sort of behaviour, and you can do so on 020 7926 4000. Action can then be taken but please do remember that in an emergency always call 999.
If you would like to visit the site, and get more information and advice, you can do so by visiting www.lambeth.gov.uk/BigDifference/CommunitySafety/index.htm
