Global Entrepreneurship Week 2010

Global Entrepreneurship Week will take place between 15 and 21 November this year. It's a worldwide movement of entrepreneurial people, with millions unleashing their enterprising talents and turning their business ideas into reality.

For the fourth year running, Lambeth Council will organise a series of events and projects that will promote enterprise to residents in the borough and to help local businesses grow.

Here are some examples of this year's projects:

Brand Amplifier
Following the successful launch of the project last year, Lambeth Council, in partnership with JP Creative, will run the Brand Amplifier project, a business competition for female entrepreneurs.
Test trade markets
Creating opportunities for people to test trade business ideas and launch new businesses.
Lambeth Enterprise Ambassadors
Promoting enterprise to young people and creating enterprise role models is vital in encouraging people to become entrepreneurs. We want to create a group of mentors - established entrepreneurs committed to inspiring young people to follow in their footsteps, by visiting schools and engaging with young people to talk about their business and life as an entrepreneur.

Lambeth First works closely with Lambeth Council and is also committed to supporting local business and enterprise. Funded through the Working Neighbourhoods Fund, our Social Enterprise Board runs various initiatives to help budding entrepreneurs get their businesses off the ground, such as the Business Loans Desk.
